A more detailed description of the analysis of the modelling of the motion of a rider in the star, with results below. The notation "long" and "vert" refer to the values without accounting for the oscillations of the gondola, which interchange these axes, but contribute very little to the total measured acceleration for a sensor close to the rotation axis. The results can also be compared to the experimental data, shown on a separate page. (Note that the modelling assumed constant angular velocity in the main rotation, whereas the movie shows that it moves slightly faster at the bottom - sufficient to explain the slightly larger maximum G-force in the data.)
